Into the Wind

Inspired by the “Freesia” which is known for its perseverance. My husband and I live in Oklahoma, famous for its storms! Two years in a row our home was hit by huge hailstorms, requiring roof replacement each time. We feared losing the garden we had worked hard to cultivate. Amazingly, we lost very little. Within days we saw new blossoms on the bushes, and the flattened plants had regained their buoyancy. It takes sun, water, deep roots, and nourishment from the soil for them to thrive. I see parallels to this in my own life, which has deep roots in a spiritual life and is sustained by relationships with family and friends. That is where I find the ability to persevere when winds are high.
