Ein ganzes Jahr lang ließen sich QuilterInnen, darunter Anfänger, Gelegenheitquilter und Profis aus aller Welt jede Woche auf’s Neue mit einem inspirativen Foto mit vielfältigen Motiven aus den Bereichen Mensch und Natur überraschen und „übersetzten“ einzelne Aspekte dieser Fotoansichten in ganz individuelle textile Interpretationen in Form von Miniquilts der Größe 30 x 30 cm.
Die 50pictures Retrospektive präsentiert zum Abschluss der Wanderausstellung noch einmal eine Auswahl der insgesamt 120 eingereichten Miniquilts in diesem außergewöhnlichen Ausstellungsformat und lädt die Besucherinnen und Besucher herzlich ein, auf einem virtuellen Rundgang die Arbeiten in aller Ruhe zu genießen, sich in die Details zu vertiefen, die Kommentare der Künstlerinnen zu lesen und in den Motiven vielleicht auch die ein oder andere Inspiration für eigene kreative Quiltprojekte zu entdecken.
Over the course of one year, quilters from around the globe, including beginners, occasional quilters and professionals, let themselves be surprised every week with a new inspirational photo featuring various nature themes and man-made motifs. They were asked to "translate" single aspects of these photo views to create individual textile interpretations in the form of miniature quilts measuring 30 x 30 cm.
The 50pictures Retrospective presents a selection of the 120 submitted mini quilts in this extraordinary exhibition format as grand finale of the travelling exhibition. Visitors are invited to take a virtual tour and enjoy the works at their own pace, delve into the details, read the artists' comments and perhaps discover some inspirational motifs for their own creative quilt projects.
