This is one of 10 pieces that make up the O'Brien's Chinese Mountain Series, a collection of meticulously constructed wool, felt and Marino works, hand-dyed in soft muted colours.

Rosie O'Brien is an emerging artist who works with paint, digital animation and textiles. She draws inspiration from the rich colour and form found in botany, approaching the work with a delicate intimacy. Her vibrant use of pattern and placement of soft vessel-like flowers demonstrates her sensitive and observant style. In her soft sculpture work the fabric piles up to form peaks of carefully chosen colours, and in her paintings, her compositions are sparse, with her bright palette reminiscent of spring.

O'Brien has worked at Arts Project Australia since 2015 and has exhibited in group exhibitions at Arts Project Australia and Seventh Gallery, Melbourne. Her work is held in private collections in Australia.
