Historical Hat
cardboard, paper, Tape, Glue, Markers

I created a custom graduation hat that was influenced by my love for the Ottoman Empire and my Pakistani culture. The materials I used in this piece were: beads, printed gloss paper, metallic tape, glitter paint, cardboard, and a tassel. Personally, it is one of my most favorite pieces I have ever created. What I learned was that cities have their own historic or cultural patterns. My family is from Rawalpindi in Pakistan. So the pattern I used on my board represents my village. My interest in the Ottoman Empire comes from the show “Resurrection Ertugrul”. I hope that people see my artwork and are inspired by their own cultural patterns and history.
