Finding an abandoned house, Shen was able to save the young girl from the cold. Here he nursed her back to health lighting a small fire to keep the two of them warm. The young girl tells Shen that her name is Rin, and that she has been caring for her parents for some time now, searching and scavenging for food. Like Shen, she was also caught in the storm. Also like Shen, she too was lost. Shen promises to return her to her parents if they indeed agree to give him supplies for his journey in finding his unit. Before their big journey, the two converse and bond over fire light.
