In the first piece of this series, I focus on the feeling of disconnect that I feel between friends and family within mental illness. Physically you’re present, but your mind is somewhere else; you feel yourself being accidentally disingenuous. This feeling is represented by trapeze artists. As they fly through the air, one of the acrobats starts to fade away, slipping from the others’ hand, falling to the danger below.
