The first of two pieces by Shoshanna Brott selected for Gala, and this petite ceramic house appears to have formed organically, with twisted tree branches covering the roof and a trunk-like form through the centre of the room.

Shoshanna Brott is an emerging artist who works with a variety of mediums on paper including pencil, compressed charcoal, dry pastel, ink and watercolour paint. She is interested in a diverse range of subjects, including what she observes in her studio environment. Her small-scale work is abstract and bright, possessing a whimsical quality and conveying a deep sense of character and carefree sophistication. Recently, her practice has extended to include experimenting in ceramics.

Brott has worked at Arts Project Australia since 2014 and has exhibited in numerous group exhibitions in Melbourne. Her work is held in private collections in Australia.
