This piece is part of a larger and ongoing body of works by Paredes exploring the design elements of high production cans and bottles. The series has a distinct Warhol feel, bringing to mind the infamous artist's soup cans.

Simon Paredes is an emerging artist working in coloured pencil on paper, often integrating Prismacolor pencil on paper. His bold, simplified forms and choice of subject matter features architecture, domestic objects, retro pop culture products, and people on small-format paper. His playful interpretation of product designs—slightly wonky isolated on white backgrounds—are notable, as are his abstract works which have a fluid quality about them.

Paredes has worked at Arts Project Australia since 2014. He has exhibited in numerous group exhibitions including Wangaratta Art Gallery and Arts Centre Melbourne and his work is held in private collections in Australia.
