Per “Stay apart together”, l’artista è stato costretto a ripensare il proprio metodo creativo. A causa del distanziamento imposto dal virus, ha dovuto coinvolgere a distanza i volontari. Ecco, allora, che allo spazio pubblico si è sostituito quello virtuale. Trasferendo la sua ricerca nel laboratorio smaterializzato della rete, Tunick ha cercato di ricreare, anche in una condizione di isolamento, quel senso di unione e collettività che anima abitualmente le sue opere.

For “Stay apart together”, the artist was forced to rethink his creative method. Because of the distancing imposed by the virus, he had to involve the volunteers at a distance. Thus, public space has been replaced by virtual space. By transferring his research to the dematerialized laboratory of the network, Tunick has tried to recreate, even in a condition of isolation, that union and collectivity that usually animates his works.
