The Hidden Self , 2021
Painting - watercolors

I have painted an abstract artwork about mental health. There are 2 faces shown in the middle. One is a happy face, and the other is a sad face. This represents how people may be happy and smiling on the outside, but internally they could be going through a lot of sadness. The colours used for the happy face are bright but the colours used in the sad face are dull and dark. The faces are surrounded by a background of regular, irregular, and abstract shapes, all of different colours. This is to represent that everyone around us is different and we should be kind to all!
