In the work “Pity”, two hands hold a white flower. This is a kind of flower that exists in Eastern literature called Tu Mi Flower. Its flower meanings are that the most brilliant, most prosperous or most memorable love in life is about to disappear. This white flower symbolizes the patients with Alzheimer’s disease, they gradually wither like flowers.
Bright multicolored colors and black brain patterns in the background symbolize brain scans of patients with Alzheimer’s disease. The brains of patients with Alzheimer’s disease are shrinking. From their brain scans, it can be seen that there are more black holes than are found in healthy people. The brain atrophy greatly affects the patients’ language ability, and the broken words on the screen indicate that the patients have difficulty organizing language.
