In the work “Struggle”, two hands desperately stretch out and struggle to get out of the water. The person trapped in the water wants to go ashore, but the shore looks out of reach. This means that the caregiver is overwhelmed by the patient. They need to breathe and rest. At the same time, it also means that the patient hopes to get rid of the troubles caused by Alzheimer’s disease.
One of the obvious symptoms is memory loss. The puzzle in the background symbolizes the memory of the patient, as it is falling piece by piece. When the patient gradually loses his memory, is he still the same person?
