Untitled , 2020

This painting represents empowerment in our community, the community and
family we’ve built throughout the summer and the community we’ve been part of for years. I decided to do this painting because this summer experience really taught me the importance of support and support given within our southwest detroit community. The fist represents empowerment and the red blocks represent everything that helps build up our community and who we are. This summer has taught me that having a support system and a group of people that will always be there for you, work with you, and guide you, is extremely
important.
