To Ursula, words are inextricably linked to the overall artistry of her paintings. Between Two Worlds was awarded first prize in the 33rd Annual National Society of Painters in Casein and Acrylic competition.
“Traveling from a colorful foreground, through a tangle of trees to a distant, sunless point on the horizon, Ursula commented that the painting for her represents her concern about the harsh treatment and general lack of appreciation in the world. The umbrellas, a recurrent theme in her work, comes from the view from the studio in Brussels – perhaps even surpassing London for drizzly weather.”
