Survivors and Victims of Violence Against Women
Sharpie on Mylar

For this descriptive drawing, I chose to help spread awareness on violence against women (domestic violence). I hope to help others realize the effect domestic violence can have on a survivor's life since I believe it’s still an unnoticed and widespread issue. Further, I chose to write words of empowerment in the woman’s face to represent the strength they have when dealing with such unjust abusive situations. Within the bruising on the eye, I wrote names of victims/survivors in purple and red to emphasize and empower survivors and show a glimpse of how many people have gone through domestic violence. I wrote words associated with domestic violence in the hand to represent the damage it can have to one's life. Overall, I hope my descriptive drawing helps spread awareness on the issue of violence against women.
