"Hiding -- How Dare You"

(Girl crying)Hiding
There are too many people left victimized in corrupt, unwinnable systems. The subject in this piece is not a specific gender, race, religion or sexuality, yet, this piece feels all too familiar. We all know this someone or something. As a victim, we hide, we stay quiet, we are told ignore the red, the hate, the violence. We learn to suppress our most innocent parts just to endure day to day life. With knowing nothing but red, we isolate ourselves. We hide within ourselves and become trapped in our own minds, our own pain, and soon we become the ones torturing ourselves. Being a victim lasts longer than just the infliction, it lasts life times.
