If you don’t feel some level of emotion in my work then I have failed as an artist. I use scratchboard as a fine art vehicle to evoke the full range of emotions in viewers. Many of my pieces capture the impacts of famine, genocide, and war. Several depict the most respected humanitarians and former leaders in the world. These pieces represent my Presidential Series.

“Theodore Roosevelt” a Rough Rider, fitness enthusiast, warrior, conservationist, explorer, police commissioner, President, Medal of Honor recipient (posthumous), and Nobel Prize recipient (1906). These are a sampling of his pursuits and achievements. What is most striking to me about him was his lifelong interest in an active lifestyle. “The Strenuous Life” as he called it is inspirational.
