The meaning behind this painting is being accepted for who you are. The Unicorn is not welcomed by other horses because it looks different. But the Centaur is kind enough to comfort the unicorn and become friends. The Centaur understands what it’s like to be misunderstood and judged for her looks. I was inspired to paint this because I have many times been judged, it is because of people not realizing I have learning disabilities and Social Anxiety/Asperberg’s. If you see someone struggling, be nice to them. You never know, the person you may view as strange could be the person with whom you have so much in common.
