LANDSCAPES for Ines Rieder, Recital by Ensemble Airborne Extended

This concert was part of the exhibition 9# SALON: The Conceptual World of Ines Rieder - Visualizing a Women's Studies Archive in SALON REAL

Just as Ines Rieder mapped the landscape of lesbian research, in the program "Landscapes" the musicians of the airborne extended ensemble explore the auditory possibilities of their specific instruments in the interplay between music - electronics - objects - performance - new media. The works presented were written for the ensemble primarily by female composers; many of these are having their Austrian debut. Techniques such as mouvement controller and interactive live electronics are used. The instruments themselves are both expanded and remotely controlled by using materials such as threads, hoses and fans, in addition they are modified using abrasive paper, sandpaper, bicycle tires, glass, styrofoam ...

The latest chamber music alternates with sound design created on everyday-, kitchen- and recycling objects, which appear in a new light by virtue of being embedded in an artistic context.

Ensemble Airborne Extended:
Elena Gabbrielli - Flute,
Sonja Leipold – Cembalo
Caroline Mayrhofer - Recorder / Paetzold
Tina Žerdin – Harp
Alisa Kobzar - sound engineering
