Artist Statement
Through my work, I explore the thoughts and mindset of the maternal nesting. A nest is a place of safety as a mother bird brings her young into the world. Before flight comes a time of security. Protection is entwined in her thoughts. Shelter represents this time and place of care, before, during and after birth.
