Artist’s Statement
“A Mother’s Heart,” is an 11” x 14” original oil painting on canvas that I created this year while thinking about the World Health Organization’s theme for World Patient Safety Day centered around safe maternal and newborn care. It is inspired by and in honor of a friend who lost her baby at birth this year. Biography
Monica McDade has been drawing, painting, and sculpting all her life. Prior to the pandemic, she was an avid museum-goer and collects books on artists from around the world. She resides in Southern California and works in patient safety.
