Notice the reflection of the ship’s lights on the seawaters. The gap in the fence provides the perfect frame for this distant view. There is always something very nostalgic about watching ships floating in the dark; maybe we wish we were on board, sailing away, or maybe they are reminiscent of a past not quite lived, but rather desired.
