Portrait of Tiffany Le , 2010s
Photograph

Tiffany Le is a recent university graduate and artist working in the fashion industry for marketing in Montreal, Canada. Initially born in Wuhan, China, her family immigrated to Canada when she was five years old. Tiffany is passionate about fashion, clothing and makeup, especially the deconstructionist style with bold cuts and striking colours. Tiffany’s mother inspired her fashion spirit for experimenting. She has many tattoos. For some, she even made them herself with artistic skills. Besides, Tiffany is interested in collecting clothing with Chinese motifs and contemporary reconstructions. She is fascinated with the idea of wearing a Western-refashioned Chinese piece, which enables her to reclaim cultural heritage and agency. She sees both the expressive and therapeutic values in doing makeup. Today, Tiffany runs a weekly virtual dance party on Zoom for LGBTQ+ people to gather, celebrate with music and show their aesthetics.
