BC Lion’s Newsletter , 1978
Newspaper

This is a photograph from the BC Lion’s newsletter featuring the cheerleaders called the Sunshine Girls. Karen Dar Woon is in the front row, second from the left. The photograph shows that Karen used Western hair and makeup styles of the day in her everyday life. The description of the newsletter reads, “Bringing a little sunshine into the lives of football followers, the 1978 CKLG ‘Sunshine Girls’ are already a smash hit at Empire Stadium. ‘The girls have worked hard, and we are proud to be associated with the football club,’ says Roberta, ‘so far, the reaction from the fans – and players – has been fantastic!”
