At the age of 15 Ella Fitzgerald went to live with her aunt and then she ran away. Ella started to sing on the streets as a means to make money and after winning first place in a contest she was offered to sing with The Harlm Opera House. Ella is thought to be the greatest vocalist in scat jazz history.
