Beauty Lies , 2022
Oil and Acrylic on Canvas

At its core, this is an oil painting. However, the background is made up of waste material that I found lying around my room. During quarantine, I sometimes felt like I was being consumed whole by my room and the things within it, because that was all I saw and interacted with the entire day. This painting is based on that feeling. The blue background that looks like it is slowly eating away at the subject and the blue undertones in parts of her face represents the feeling of her getting consumed by her surroundings.
