Freedom
Clay, paint, and metal chains + 7 inches tall

We used clay to create a fist representing strength and power and then used metal chains as shackles to represent broken bondage. We want to show freedom from bondage, anything holding us back (the stress of the pandemic stopping us from living a normal life, not being able to see family and friends). The piece shows being freed from all types of racism and discrimination that people have endured over the years. The chains represent releasing the shackles (chains) of mental illness.
