This piece is part of a reflection on my complicity in living in a colonised country with a continuing history of oppression of indigenous people. I fuel my car, heat my home, cook food, from resources extracted from lands that indigenous people once had completely and freely. My home is on land that used to be theirs, all Made in Canada goods I support is made in land that used to be indigenous land. I walk on orange ground and may I be reminded everyday of the long journey towards reconciliation and that I can take small halting steps, maybe accidental mis-steps in that journey.
