Three paintings belong to a series of 22 artworks titled "Tribute to Soča," representing the river that flows along the border between Italy (where it is named Isonzo) and Slovenia.

In my paintings, this river serves as a symbol of beauty, purity, connection between places and people, and the struggle for the border. The mesmerizing beauty of the Soča River's colours and movements has captivated me, and I've sought to capture these details in enlargements on canvas.

The entire cycle encapsulates 22 moments of the river, 22 glimpses into its existence in almost microscopic detail—a collection of wishes for its perpetual cleanliness and the continuation of carrying the song of mountains to the sea. Consequently, the paintings in the cycle do not have conventional titles. Instead, they are numbered, indicating the moments when my artistic gaze immersed itself in the river. The titles of the paintings I've shared with you are 02, 04, and 07.

Additionally, it might be of interest to explain the painting technique employed in this cycle. I fashioned the river's movement using a mixture of acrylic putty and wood glue, augmented with acrylic paints. The dried base was then layered with a variety of acrylic shades, meticulously applied with a small brush.
