Swimming Pool , 2024
A.I.

The "Swimming Pool" holds a complex history in Black America. During segregation, Black individuals were often denied access to public swimming pools, reflecting the pervasive racial discrimination of the time. However, the struggle for civil rights and desegregation eventually led to more inclusive swimming facilities. Today, swimming pools symbolize progress, but they also remind us of the ongoing fight for equal access to recreational spaces and the importance of breaking down racial barriers in all aspects of American society.
