Wilfred Bedeau served in combat during Desert Storm in Iraq for eight months in 1990-91, after enlisting for a six-year term in the Army. Following his active duty, he continued serving in the reserves, specializing in casualty assistance. Initially, Wilfred didn't recognize his own need for counseling after his experiences in Desert Storm. However, as he grappled with PTSD, he eventually sought help from the Department of Veterans Affairs of Broward County. Now, he attends weekly counseling sessions, which not only aid in his personal healing but also enhance his ability to support families affected by suicide casualties.
