This painting was created by creating a decalcamania/paradoilia background which is the creation of an abstract background from rubbings, drips, blotting and stamping etc and then picking out meaningful shapes from those abstract forms…similar to seeing faces and shapes in wood grain or in clouds. I used the images that seemed to be within the textures of the paint and added others as the piece developed including hidden faces, gnomes, critters and some areas that will glow in the dark from Light sensitive paint.
