At a meat processing facility in Mandalay, the second largest city of Myanmar, I saw a man in the midst of a pile of cattle bones crushing them with an axe. I was told that the marrow taken from the bones would be boiled with fat in a large pot and processed into products such as sausage and soap. There were three dogs on top of the hill of bones scavenging for the remnant. It was a wild sight. (Mandalay, Myanmar 2017)
