ball point pen and white-out on paper
[KAHA19-0002]

Legendary manga artist Osamu Tezuka originally created the character Unico in this work. Here Hallas lovingly recreates and reinterprets the scene in her characteristically detailed and decorative style.

Kaymay Hallas is an emerging artist who works almost entirely in ballpoint pen. Her highly illustrative works are influenced by the artist's favourite cartoons including My Little Pony, Disney and Japanese manga characters. These elaborative drawings are playful yet complex in composition.

Hallas has been a regular artist at Arts Project Australia since 2014 and has exhibited in group exhibitions in Australia. Her work is held in private collections.
