In Michael Trasancos' The Tennis Open, we see the abstracted scene of the crowd and a yellow tennis ball in flight before it. The brushwork though the centre of the piece suggests movement, activating the space.

Michael Trasancos preferred medium is acrylic paint and he frequently portrays a fascination with Australian culture, often drawing from souvenir calendars. Trasancos' subject matter often features Australian landscapes, native animals and Australian football. His playful, brightly coloured paintings are expressive in style and sometimes incorporate text.

Trasancos has been attending the Arts Project Australia studio since 2004. He has exhibited at Melbourne Art Fair and Linden New Art, Melbourne as well as Robin Gibson Gallery, Sydney. His work is held in corporate and private collections.
