Series : The Way of the Salt Worker

The series Le Geste du Saunier is a tribute to the Saunier, the salt marsh worker, a profession linking man to the earth and the sea. Artists have documented the labour of the salt workers, with the same gestures, since the 14th century. It was the Benedictine monks who first worked the salt marshes in the 7th century.

La série « Le Geste du Saunier » est un hommage au métier de Saunier, l’exploitant des marais salants, reliant l'Homme, la Terre et la Mer. L'homme dans un profond respect du sol tire naturellement et avec patience le fruit de son travail, avec le même geste, depuis le XIVème siècle. Ce sont les moines Bénédictins qui ont créé au VIIème siècle les marais salants.

Le Geste du Saunier系列是对Saunier职业的致敬，Saunier是一名盐沼经营者，他的工作将人类、地球和海洋连接在一起。出于对土壤怀有的深深的敬意，从14世纪开始，人类自然而然地、充满耐心，始终坚持同样的行为来获取自己的劳动果实。在7世纪时本笃会的修士们创造了盐沼。
