Altar , 2020
8 x 10 in (h x w)
Gouache and Colored Pencil

"Altar" is an exploration of the meanings of the elements in regards to witchcraft, and their connection to the altar, their involvement in spell work, and connecting one with nature. Each element corresponds to a different direction and has objects associated with it. I researched what those may be, like feathers and bells for air, candles and incense for fire, gems and metals for earth, and crystal balls and chalices for water.
