The Sword , 2020
11 x 8.5 in (h x w)
mixed media, Digital Background and traditional graphite pencils for the drawing.

This sword originally belonged to the Shah of Iran, Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, and it was a gift to my grandparents in gratitude for hosting the Shah when the Iranians made a coup in Iran and he had to escape. The Shah escaped to Panama and he and his wife Farah were cared for by my grandparents.

Since I was a little girl I have had knowledge of that sword; I remember that I along with my cousins always tried to carry it but it was very heavy for us. For my family it is a valuable object since it marks an important moment in the history of my grandparents.
