Step Up , 2020
25 x 27 in (h x w)
ink and digital

Many times during my adolescence I felt stuck between my family and the rest of the world that I was a part of. There was a certain shame and uncertainty behind growing up in a household that was so different from my peers and also in an environment so different than what my family was familiar with. This piece seeks to explore the imaginary restraints I placed on myself in my younger years, choosing to selectively show different aspects of myself and hiding the rest.
