C.Bride Slits a Smile , 2020
20 x 16 in (h x w)
Gouache & Colored Pencil

Carrot and Pomegranate come to realization that since they made C.Bride together, and she is alive, she is their daughter. She's just born, and she's going to be wed off. They see their cruelty and so they attempt to set her alight in order to physically deform her wax body. Their attempts fail but C.Bride sets herself on fire at a dinner party only for it to reveal her delicately formed calico skin underneath. The figs fawn over her even further and the wedding plan continues. By now C.Bride is still mouthless, but she won't be for long. She uses a gifted amber necklace from her father and slits a smile in order to give a speech.
In the end she saves herself through words.
