Painting from the collection of National Chornobyl Museum

Italian artist took the Chernobyl disaster very personally. For many years he was involved in the rehabilitation of children from Chernobyl in Italy and in humanitarian aid to the regions affected by the Chernobyl accident, which he visited every year until his death. He embodied everything he saw and experienced in a series of paintings dedicated to the Chernobyl tragedy. Paolo Chimoni worked under the slogan "Forget it!" The purpose of his work is to remind the world that Chernobyl is an open and painful wound that needs constant attention and help of all mankind.
This abandoned children's bicycle impressed the artist in Pripyat during his first trip to the 30-km Chernobyl Exclusion Zone in 1991.
The entire cycle of 24 paintings was donated by the author to the National Museum "Chornobyl"
