Entry, 2021

Neuroscience meets Apparel Design: Nicolas Henri Jacob was the preeminent anatomical illustrator in 19th century France. This 1840 lithograph was one of 700 drawings included in the famous Traité Complet de l’Anatomie de l’Homme. Purchased in the French flea market, the original vintage parchment is hand-beaded with couture techniques exemplifying the artistic beauty of the brain. This is just one of a series of 20 re-worked anatomical prints by Gail Chovan.
