The University of Texas Marine Science Institute has several research projects around the subject of microplastics in the environment, including analyzing plastics for chemical contamination, batch fingerprinting, and citizen science collection. This image was taken during a collection of microplastics on North Padre Island in Corpus Christi, Texas after a large storm event in the summer of 2020.
