Two elements were combined in this minimalist collage in order to meet the thematic criteria. The apple being held is a relic from the past; mothers sometimes free fruit of their nutritious skin so that children will find them more delicious. My mother often gave me apples without skin. The pine attached to the stalk has been cut out from another image and is in fact the trunk of a mutilated palm tree."
