© Rudolf Lehmann estate

Lehmann’s work, predominantly sculpture and woodcuts, focuses on the animal form. He aimed to capture the animal’s essence, frequently observing his subjects during lengthy visits to the Tel Aviv Zoo. His forms are simple - influenced by the work of the painter and sculptor Ewald Mataré - and also draw attention to his raw materials.
