In my paintings, I attempt to capture the significance and reality of one moment in time and to study what appear to be the mundane objects of life; to explore the minute details and to vividly express them on paper with the fluidity of watercolor. When people see my work, they often feel a sense of warmth and nostalgia, remembering back to simpler times. While my subjects are commonplace, my paintings are anything but. They show a mastery of light and shadow, and they have an emotional quality that can be felt as well as seen. While talent and creative abilities continue to win accolades across the country, my true gratification comes from watching people enjoy the treasures I create.
