As the pandemic continued, my need to enjoy comfortable spaces and the beautiful surroundings of Charleston increased. The Sanctuary is a beautiful hotel on Kiawah Island not far from my home. Its huge lobby is one of the most inviting interiors I have ever seen. One day I decided to mask up and go to The Sanctuary to photograph their lobby and outside views. My painting, Elegant Sanctuary, was created from these photos. The sunlight shining through enormous lobby windows was incredible and became the focus of this painting. Many people have expressed to me that viewing this painting makes them feel like they just want to sit and enjoy this beautiful space and sunlight. That is exactly the reaction I was hoping for!
