George "Mule" Suttles
Born: March 31, 1901, Blocton, AL
Died: July 9, 1966, Newark, NJ

Mule Suttles was a first baseman and outfielder in the Negro Leagues, most notably with the Birmingham Black Barons, St. Louis Stars, and Newark Eagles. Suttles was a power hitter whose career in the Negro Leagues spanned 22 years. He was the son of a coal miner, and he also worked in the mines himself as a teenager. Suttles was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 2006.
