In this piece, I wanted to convey the emotions of what an Eagle Warrior would look like when venturing out to the ruins in the desert, with them being closest to the plaque overlooking everything on the horizon. To elaborate, the tall, dark bold walls were seen as a barrier to overcome. As for the eagle, it is on top of the artifact with its wings spread to show hope and determination, with its long dark feathers symbolizing strength. As for the sun, it is given a mix of prominent and thin spiral lines to represent the ups and downs of what it is like to be on a journey. Lastly, the Mexican artifact with a variety of details embedded is to represent the hardships and victories along the way.
