Negative and positive space art project.
During this art project grade 1 & 2 students learned about the positives space as the focus area and the negative space as an area surrounding the subject. Each student got a black piece of construction paper and cut random shapes out, after that, they glued their shapes (positive space) on the bigger piece of the white paper opposite the negative space of each shape. This exercise helps to improve the observation and develop composition skills.
